A Guide for Women Traveling from Abroad

Many of my clients travel specifically to Brussels for a session, from United-States, Amsterdam, London, or further. If you are planning a visit and wondering where to stay near my tantric massage practice in Saint-Gilles, this guide is for you.

I put it together because the question comes up often, and because the answer matters. After a session of tantric massage, your nervous system is open. The work doesn't stop when you leave the futon. You need a space to land, somewhere calm, human-scale, and genuinely welcoming. A hotel that continues the care, rather than interrupting it.

All of the addresses below are within walking distance or a short journey from my practice at Rue d’Espagne, Saint-Gilles, Brussels. I selected them for their atmosphere, their proximity, and for what they offer a woman traveling alone: safety, quiet, and character.

JAM Hotel Brussels — Design, Rooftop, and a Five-Minute Walk from the Practice

Address: Chaussée de Charleroi 132, Saint-Gilles Website: jamhotels.eu

JAM is the closest hotel to my practice, a five-minute walk. It is a design hotel with a rooftop terrace, a pool, and a cocktail bar. The public spaces have real energy, but the rooms are a genuine retreat: quiet, well-designed, and separated from the buzz below.

This is the right choice if you want to arrive the day before your session and ease slowly into your time in Brussels, a swim, a drink, an early night. It also suits women who enjoy having life around them while still having a private space to return to.

Vintage Hotel Brussels — A Quiet Street, Warm Staff, and No Fuss

Address: Rue Dejoncker 45, Saint-Gilles Website: vintagehotel.be

This is the address I recommend most often to clients who are traveling alone for the first time. It sits on one of the quietest streets in Saint-Gilles, two steps from the main arteries but completely sheltered from them. The 1970’s decor gives it a personality that larger hotels rarely have, warm materials, considered details, the feeling of being somewhere specific rather than anywhere. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. You feel held from the moment you arrive.

Easily accessible by public transport from Brussels-Midi, Brussels-Central, or Brussels-Airport.

Hygge Hotel — Soft Light, Generous Breakfasts, and Genuine Calm

Address: Rue des Drapiers 31-33, Ixelles Website: hyggehotel.be

Hygge is the Danish word for the warmth of a cocoon, and this hotel earns its name. Sitting on the border of Ixelles and Saint-Gilles, ten minutes from my practice, it offers the kind of welcome that feels personal rather than professional. The rooms are filled with morning light. The breakfasts are prepared with real care, the kind that makes you slow down rather than rush out. One of the best price-to-atmosphere ratios in this part of Brussels.

A strong choice if your session is in the morning and you want a gentle, nourishing start to the day before you arrive.

Maison Flagey — Art Nouveau, the Ponds, and a Place That Has a Soul

Address: Avenue du Général de Gaulle 39, Ixelles Website: maisonflagey.com

This is a B&B, not a hotel, and that is exactly the point. Housed in an Art Nouveau building facing the Flagey ponds, it is the kind of place that stays with you. The history is present in the walls. They host intimate concerts. The scale is entirely human.

If you are sensitive to the atmosphere of places, if you feel the difference between somewhere that has been built and somewhere that has grown, this is where to stay. I recommend arriving the day before so you have time to walk around the ponds in the morning. It is one of the most grounding things you can do in Brussels before a session.

Canopée Guesthouse — A Home Away from Home in Ixelles

Address: Rue Lesbroussart 47, Ixelles Website: canopeeguesthouse.com

A small guesthouse maintained with deep personal care, in one of the most beautiful and walkable neighborhoods in Brussels. There is a kitchenette, a genuinely cozy atmosphere, and hosts who are present without hovering. If you are staying for two or three days and want to feel genuinely settled, rather than just passing through, this is the right address.

It is also ideal if you plan to combine your session with some time to explore the city at your own pace.

Practical Information: Getting to My Practice in Saint-Gilles

My practice is located in Saint-Gilles, one of Brussels' most central and well-connected neighborhoods. It is accessible from:

  • Brussels-Midi station (Eurostar, Thalys, TGV): 10–15 minutes by pre-metro/tram (lines 4 or 10 to Horta stop) or by taxi.

  • Brussels-Central station: approx. 20–25 minutes by direct bus (line 48 to Barrière stop), or by metro (lines 1 or 5) transferring to the pre-metro (lines 4 or 10) at De Brouckère.

  • Brussels Airport (BRU): approx. 50 minutes by direct train to Brussels-Midi station, followed by a short tram ride (lines 4 or 10).

If you have questions about how to organize your day, what time to arrive, how much time to allow before and after your session, or anything else related to the logistics of your visit, feel free to reach out. I always take the time to properly welcome the women who make the journey.
